Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI VS Boeing 747

Description:

Tom Ford tests the true power of the Touareg. Loyal viewers of the programme will remember the episode of Fifth Gear where we set the VW Touareg a towing challenge and made it drag a people carrier driving in the opposite direction, a telegraph pole and a combine harvester. But now we've upped the ante, and we're going to try and tow a whole jet, a jumbo jet - a Boeing 747. If Tom manages it, it'll be a new world record for the heaviest thing towed by a production vehicle.

if that was a flat grade or a downhill grade any car could pull that once it got moving but seeing that at least get that plane moving,vw should make a pickup like the rabbit again or make a midsize pickup with the v12 diesel.now that would be cool.

It is a decommissioned 747 that is about to be scrapped. The plane was used in a Bond film, so was modified by M5 to have the doubled-up engines and external fuel pods. The plane can not fly (the engines are "fakes". The plane is parked at Dunsfold Park in the UK.

No they can't.. The tractive force of friction would prevent a 255KW V8 in a 1.5T car from moving a 158T plane. The car would sit there and spin the wheels, as if anchored to a bollard. Go learn some physics to find out for yourself.
