Description:

When you think of the "Tales of..." RPG series, the first thing which most likely comes to mind is the unique combat system. Now, this is all well and good--but when I think of the series, it's always the attention Namco puts into the abundant, detailed (and often nostalgic) secrets and sidequests littered throughout the various titles (Tower of Druaga anyone?) So with that, let's take a ride down memory lane (OK, it was only 6 years ago, so sue me) and reacquaint ourselves with some of the really cool secrets found in Tales of Destiny II (that's Eternia for the JP fans.) SECRET#1- Just like in ToD1, Cress and Arche make a cameo appearance, however, you can actually fight them this time around! Along with their cameo, the whole lot from ToD1 also return, but as a summon instead of a battle. SECRET#2- The final boss of Phantasia, Dhaos, appears as a summon in this game too. Although, he is given a new name to reflect his power over the element of time (Sekundes, get it?) Under special conditions, you can actually activate the holy lightning spell used against Dhaos in ToP to instantly kill him, which is good, considering how UN-HOLY difficult he becomes at low HP. SECRET#3- The Maxwell summon extensions. Probably among the quirkiest, squirreled away secrets ever put into a game. Lots of weird preperation, completely convoluted to activate, and awkward to pull off without the target dieing before the spell runs its course. The big trick is that it grants 100,000 EXP just by getting it to work all the way to 'Blue Earth'.

Only Arche is summoned via shooting star with Maxwell at max LV 30 and a full vitality meter. However Keele can also summmon Arche that way. Yes normally only Cress + Arche can only be fought via Inferia City's arena using Reid only.

That's another odd little secret--I love this game! Are you sure it wasn't Arche (Pink-Haired girl on the broom) though? She appears when that scenario that you mentioned is met. Use Shooting Star as Meredy with Maxwell summon at Max, and you can actually control her (Arche) as she shoots out icicles.

I was playing as Meredy in NL and Maxwell vitality become max, instead of summoning it I used Shooting Star. Instead of the normal spell, I summoned Cress. Oo WTF's happening? I never found anything about this anywhere.
