My friend's amd 64 x2 4600+, 2 gb ram, Nvidia 7900GT 512 mb ram runs it on highest at 1280*1024 19 inch monitor which is higher resolution than an HD-ready tv. His computer now is maybe $500 max. Try a Widescreen 24 Inch monitor...has resolution of 1900*1200 which is higher than any HD tv. You can run Bioshock on full graphics on a computer for around $600 in dx9. Why get that instead of a $300 xbox.
